Meet Jackson Witt from Cisco, Texas, a senior missions major, and a member of the SNU cross country team.

“When I came to SNU I was at a point in my life where I thought I knew exactly what I was going to do with my life and that all quickly came crashing down on me.  I grew up in the church and have such a strong belief for the body of believers. Our mission statement, “Character, Culture, Christ” has been instilled into me my whole life. I’d always had a heart for missions. Attending Southern Nazarene almost seemed like it was ordained. Even still, I was not sure of what the Lord intended for me to do, but knew that I needed to lean into him fully.

It’s as if the obstacles and injuries that could’ve hindered my growth were the very things that presented new opportunities. Transferring here, after not running for a while and not being around like-minded people, was a breath of fresh air. Many different paths led me to discover that my heart and soul belong in the mission field. I am grateful for the people who have extended countless efforts in assisting me in achieving my goals through this journey.  I have spent much of my time here investing into my relationships because that is what I value the most. These people and possibilities have proven how evident the Lord is in my life. I believe my path was meant to intersect here.”
